Seducing Malaysia

Posted by: AainaA In: local| sauce

Something has gone wrong in a small town called Kuala Lumpur.

In a “Muslim” nation like Malaysia, what is permissible and non where dressing is concerned especially where male performers are asked to apologize to the audience for making them squeezy you know Malaysia is crawling back into the 12th century or maybe earlier - Has the “Purdah state” for women become such an issue for politicization in Malaysia that these days men are even retributed* for stripping in public?

For readers that are not alighted to what is permissible in Islaam where dressing is concerned is that in Shariah {Islaamic Law}, male dressing is based from the middle part of the body: from navel to knee. That’s it - so if a man were to walk 1/2 nakedly in town, a woman or other men should not make a huge issue, but that is not the case recently. The Malaysian government especially those preparing the Sharia Index must remember this Hadith, and make clear ‘judgments’ before the ArshIllaahi.

“Eat what you feel like and wear what you feel like. But avoid two things: extravagance and arrogance.” {Bukhari}. At the risk of stating the obvious one should be reminded that this Hadith establishes an overriding concern that limits our choices within the realm of what is considered halal. It does not do away with the distinction between halal and haraam.

Since women do have lower sexual urges than men, a half naked performer would not induce them to behave irrationally. Women are after all, the weaker gender in every plausible field of expertise, and considered 2nd class citizens in Malaysia. To quote Natalie’s words and put this in perspective…

“Women are said to have lower sex drives than men, yet they are universally punished if they display evidence to the contrary — if they disobey their ”natural” inclination toward a stifled libido. Women supposedly have a lower sex drive than men do, yet it is not low enough. ~ Men, Women, Sex And Darwin by Natalie Angier”

I do hope Malaysia will allow her citizens to behave like rationale adults when it comes to what is permissible and not just throw accusations and assumptions to make headline news. Are scholars and learned personalities reverting ad verbatim to what is permissible according to what the State requires of them?

To debase Islaam within their limited mind, and knowledge is scandalous - I hope for the future of all religions, and Deen their misapprehension of Islaam will not make it an abject of mockery, in the 21st century and beyond.
