Doing The Math!

Posted by: AainaA In: sauce

The SecretChungko finally sent someone. Adi dropped by the Damansara office. I had literally lost approximately three days of work time thanks to their inapt communication amongst themselves, which equates to a couple of thousand dollars. .. and since I work 20/24, that would be in the regions of … you do the math!

He took my 17″ ThinkVision without asking much, and brought a 14″ loaner, then broke the news.

“It’ll take at best 3 weeks before you get your TV back” he said. My eyes rounded, hoping I’ll have no choice but to work on this 14″ - I’m reverting to the Ice Age. In my mind it’s not just about the size - the bigger it is, the more I can see and multitask. With a 14″, I can only work on one application at best - try working on Photoshop with that resolution, even if its at 1152*864.

You just loose perspective and color amongst others.

The “statement” arrived - I noticed that Maxis Broadband charged my Mastercard instead of my Visa. Now I wonder how they got that one in the first place - they had charged it twice for a month usage. I breathe deeply - this has to stop - they can’t blame the system thanks to their negligence. They’d have to explain to me, at best with a straight face. If this can happen to me, it can also happen to you! {If you’re a Maxis subscriber, in Malaysia!}

Spreadsheeting on a 14″ is like shooting yourself with a tazer. I am so in need of a new office, a new job, a new country, … a new life. In my head, I hear a voice.

“Soon, AainaA, soon…!”

Bon weekend, everyone!
Smile, it works wonders even if you feel you’re in a boat in the middle of a stagnant ocean.

postscriptum: for those doing visualization from “The Secret” book, and seeing cheques coming to your mailbox instead of bills - it works! I just received a cheque for something I have never, in a million years, expected. Now to tweak that visualization technique and add a couple more zeroes in there.
