Off I went to the market yesterday - seeing that I tire easily eating MSG {monosodium glutamate} infested cooked meals at local restaurants and eateries. Mum thinks I’m a baby. I think I’m being frugal.
It was a worthwhile trip…
To market, to market to buy a fat pig;
Home again, home again, jiggety-jig.
To market, to market, to buy a fat hog;
Home again, home again, jiggety-jog.To market, to market, to buy a plum cake;
Home again, home again, market is late.
To market, to market, to buy a plum bun;
Home again, home again, market is done.To market, to market, a gallop a trot,
To buy some meat to put in the pot;
Three pence a quarter, a groat a side,
If it hadn’t been killed it must have died
The “Pasar Besar Taman Tun Dr. Ismail” {The Tun Dr. Ismail Wet Market}, adjacent to where I live in Damansara offers the freshest array of seafood, fruits and vegetables in Petaling Jaya though the market itself comes under Kuala Lumpur’s jurisdiction. Try not to indulge in the flowers though - it can be terribly pricey. A bunch of chrysanthemum flowers, frangipani and orchids blew my RM100 {about €20/=} away but I love fresh cut flowers so I don’t mind spending to keep my home away from Home, comfy and warm. At least once in a bluemoon.
There was a lightning storm after I got out of the pool - it was refreshing. The wind was howling your name for the umpteenth time, and I smiled to myself. As you can see, the river beside the Golf course where I live overflowed. The flowers in my bedroom are priceless - I wake up and delight my eyes looking at something beautiful apart from the white washed empty walls.
With all the fancy shmancy ‘creations’ involving nano technology and otherwise that we daily read or see around us from the arrogant empty heart humans who cry superiority in many ways - they’ve yet to create something out of something which is yet to be created. The idea of playing divine has been so bastardize you sometimes wonder why such inferiority complex from those with minds. Replicating a taste, senses and emotions least to say ’sight’ has yet to be proven and now they decry the very existence of Divine Essence.
Oh well…
The crab that refused to be washed finally found itself on my dining table, ready to be cracked open and eaten with mum’s specially prepared ginger sambal {chili ginger paste}.
I had prepared a simple Asian fish ball soup with chrysanthemum leaves, and fish pasta. It was worth the money spent without having to add preservatives and artificial seasoning.
Ah… how wonderful life is when spent well and appreciated!
“Life is a fair trade wherein all adjusts itself in time; for all you take from it, you must pay the price sooner or later. For some things you may pay in advance; for some you should pay on delivery; and for some later on, when the bill is presented.”
