Switched-Off!
Some readers wrote to vent their disappointments about my other site which is supposedly to be in re-vamp at the mo’.
AainaA Insight! Magazine is off line – well, someone managed to hack into it when dbs were migrated to another server and a module or two got completely broken. Porn links were placed therein, and I’m too tired to vent my disgust at these bastards trying to break me. A four-letter word in a dictionary would find their faces beaming with joy! Seeing that I’m the only one maintaining the site after more than three years, I told myself, that 2008 will be the end of AainaA.com.
You’d think I’d cry?
Well I had to make a decision – it was the only Franco-Malaysian site that had everything – from web 2.0 write ups to Nokia Reviews, through blogs, and TV Channels. It had everything but seeing that the recent investors I approached were too complacent about investing in the Print version of AainaA Insight and/or expanding the online mag, I dropped the bomb. I don’t understand the ‘concept of Free’ in a sustainable environment… non, ça va pas non? vraiment!
Five + years is a very very long time! Had it been a marriage, I’d be an expert!
I don’t have the same energy as I used to – besides, Malaysians are more interested in everything but knowledge – or at least the ones I do not know personally. The intellectual ones are saying that I should move on – yeah, easier said than done when you’ve been working the net since the eighties! Everyone I know wants free publicity on that platform – some thick headed corporates prefer not paying Ad space. Duh? Did they seriously think I was conceived last night or what? Anyways, its over – shipped out the confirmation from my Grey matter and said adieu.
It is time, to find the DEL button, and delete the Internet for good. There’s always Mobile IM and sending txt messages is equally as fun as keeping in touch with the rest of the world. I want to live off line, and maybe become a shepherdess somewhere on the hills of Samarqand 0r maybe move to Paris and trip the lights fantastic again. A friend from Paris might say otherwise – he insists that I’m dreaming about life back home, but I’m not the one clamoring to go to China or Thailand to set-up my tent there.
I’m the last on planet earth to ever condemn Paris! Trust me, things will drastically change when I’m there wherever there is!
Conceited? S’il vous plait!
