A simple question was posed and broadcasted to about 1100 members of two independent groups – one on Facebook, the other on Blog Catalog. Out of the 1100 members who were sent the broadcast twice, less than 10 answered the question and wanted to remain anonymous.
If the world had only a couple of months to live, what would you as Citizens of the Earth do? What would you as Humans, a termed coined from ‘humus’ – meaning of the earth, meaning, those with humility do?
However, that was not the question, but imagine if you will, your earth, a planet ‘floating’ in ’space’ had only a couple of months in your mechanical time to live, and you didn’t have a choice but to do something about it even if you were afraid… what would you have done?
What would Jesus, Mohammed, Moses and Kermit the Frog do?
Would you have taken that extra moment between the choices that you have in the palm of your hands to determine whether a question like this would be deemed ‘critical’ enough for your attention, or would you seriously contemplate, and react towards it? If earthlings really wanted Peace, or happiness what is stopping them from achieving it? Lack of funds, lack of degrees, lack of work?
Terror is as much a part of the concept of truth as runniness is of the concept of jam. We wouldn’t like jam if it didn’t, by its very nature, ooze. We wouldn’t like truth if it wasn’t sticky, if, from time to time, it didn’t ooze blood ~ Jean Baudrillard.
The question in mind that I would have liked answered was…
“What Would You Do, If You Weren’t Afraid…?”
It is a simple question.
It had nothing to do with the Earth being in danger, even if it is – It is not rocket science but it was a question that left one with no choices if they really understood it. Are you one of the rare few conscious ones that ‘perceive’ the Golden message through the countless faces, tongues, hearts, and words being strewn at you, or are you one that proclaims being existing in a beautiful garden but didn’t bother with what is deemed trivial?
Bill Gates got it, Mother Theresa got it, Moses got it, Buddha got it, Jesus definitely got it, and so did Mohammed.
Are you the many that cling to paper degrees living in a limited consciousness before declaring success or the rare two per cent of the world population that knew deep within their guts that living consciously ‘outside’ the box has its rewards? Are you a follower like the masses expecting change without changing, or are you leaders to be reckoned with? Are you one living with virtue, or are you one constantly just following the next leader to show you the way to San Jose?
These five personalities out of the eleven hundred that were sent the simple question answered, and these five weren’t unrealistic. They made ‘time’ to answer it, and sent it in. Would you have done the same?
TheFly, 24, site owner of The Placebo Effect, said in his words…”I would do everything I would have guilt for. Being guilt free would be cool, doesnt necessarily mean I would do crimes but more like, I would spend on whatever I wanted, eat whatever I wanted, you know, shallow things like that, haha. buzz buzz” whilst Blog owner of Intertribal Times, OthelloBloke, 29 added that “I would LOVE to say what but I can’t because I’m almost certainly going to try it very soon, and it could jeopardize my life, and the lives of my family if people knew what. Nothing illegal though”.
“Nothing really scares me but I don’t feel comfortable singing in public. I don’t sing poorly but I just feel strange singing in front of people who know me. If you saw Mamma Mia you’d agree that it would be better if Pierce Brosnan should have this problem, not me ~ Gary Dale”
Who is Gary Dale?
Gary Dale Cearley is an internationally known expatriate American author whose diverse range of writing subjects are winning him an extremely varied readership. After a mandatory stint in San Diego boot camp Gary Dale reported for duty at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California. In a twist of fate that changed his life forever, Gary Dale was assigned to study Vietnamese rather than Arabic, which he had intended. This switch from Arabic to Vietnamese later led Gary Dale to Asia where he has spent a coon’s age since. Ironically, after language training Gary Dale received orders to the USS Arkansas. “The Ark”, as his shipmates called the vessel was not only Gary Dale’s home state’s name sake ship, but oddly enough she was later decommissioned by former Arkansas governor, President Bill Clinton.

“Since I was a child I would have realistic dreams of flying like Superman. I felt empowered and free, able to fly above my problems. But the next best thing is skydiving. But sadly, I would be too afraid to do it. To fall and realize in blood-freezing horror that my parachute won’t open ~ Anthony Leone”.

“If I was not afraid I would unfold my life before you like a sheet and hold it out to the wind. Because I am afraid I will bind myself with it. The wind says let go, let’s go, it pulls and billows, nothing holds you. But I am afraid. ~ Ceris Dien”
Ceris, in her own words… “I’m a voluntary office assistant/newsletter editor/press officer/PR person, on a fairly randomly assigned basis, at a community development trust in Wales. Online I explore, learn, connect and communicate and try to help my friends in Kampala to raise their profile {and their funds} , the next stage in that process being, well … more exploring, learning, connecting and communicating, and a blog or two. I’m a 40-something parent and when I grow up I want to write an opinion column for the New York Times and to understand quantum physics”.
