Crunching Deficit

Small Business Tips for Entrepreneurs jumpstarting a business during the Global Monetary Crisis – You have something, they need something, and vice versa. Instead of cutting the roots of a tree, or burning bridges, it is best to think hard – that’s where the 29% comes in. Working without thinking, or talking without thinking makes for being hens and cocks in a barn, and for crying out loud, we’re not fowls and poultry are we ?

She voiced-out, “not ten years from now !”. She was concerned when we’ll be jumpstarting our project – We’ve submitted our dossier, but without the traditional brick-mortar license we can go farther, but I’m certain she will not want to change and adept to realities in the 21st century. We’re in it together, but we’re almost grinding to a halt. I wish I have all the answers to the world’s quandaries – but I don’t. I do have a solution when I believe in a Cause. I believe setting up a publishing business is equally daunting as not setting up one – don’t tell me its difficult setting up an online business – I have been doing that for others since the late eighties !, and blunt as I can often be sometimes, it really isn’t difficult to build an online business from scratch.

Readers need print despite migration online: Print Media circulation rates vary from a decrease of 5.4 percent to an increase 11.6 percent – most recent study made in Australia

As enticing it is to jumpstart a company – so too can employer/employee relationship tax you right the very start you sign the dotted line – be that in partnership of choosing the correct partner whom you believe shares the same compassion and values as yourself, to the many employees eager to be part of your organization only to realize that many though angels they may be, are clueless to what’s going on in the reality that you are. Determining that the team stays focus on the objectives is hard to come by – but it can be done. It is not a no-win solution – people can be educated. Show them how to fish, and they’ll fish for all eternity except when pink dolphins start pirouetting in the Oceans ! Following the time-line, the course of action is another – stick to it like glue to paper, and amend, amend when you can only if you must. Harsh words exchange in the office behind clients and junior staff should stay in the office {and shouldn’t take it to be a personal attack – always remember you’re NOT the only one who is stressed !!} and not broadcasted elsewhere unless you’re truly tested and stressed, its best to take time-off. But would you take time-off when you’ve just jump-started a business ?

A good leader does not dwell on problems but seek solutions and mend the foundation before it breaks down like shells to concrete in a game of war ! They do not have time for excuses, tardiness, or personal problems on company time !

There are no set-rules to ruling your life, and it should be with business as well – some will disagree, but you’re allowed to disagree – it is afterall a prerogative but the EGO must be in check ! – your way does not necessarily reflect the better way in doing things. One’s past experience is not judgement for a future success in the same industry- since success ultimately boils down to seventy-percent hard work, twenty-nine percent deep thinking, and one percent inspiration {or in most cases, the conceptual idea !}. Things change – before, the World was building Empires, these days, the world is no longer scratching each others’ back to make ends meet.

The recent monetary crisis has literally shock the world to a halt.

What could it be ? and how does one solve it ? Return to basics, rework your paper, your course, discuss with your Team, for though they may be deemed nothing but back-end support, they are still Children of the Universe, from one Word – you’d have nothing without your team working in tandem and working with you. Not working in a team will halt any business forward. The way forward internally is by working together – yes, there will be teething problems but how can a child chew if the foundations of its teeth are not set in place ? The same would go with clients – they are NOT just your clients. They are your ‘compatriots’ – dealing with them openly, honestly as you would yourself, when you face the mirror in the mornings is the way to go. You have something, they need something, and vice versa. Instead of cutting the roots of a tree, or burning bridges, it is best to think hard – that’s where the 29% comes in. Working without thinking, or talking without thinking makes for being hens and cocks in a barn, and for crying out loud, we’re not fowls and poultry are we ? Though different, we are beings with hearts – it shouldn’t be the other way around though my comprehension is just, your’s might not be the same – but have you seen how the world has churned and banks falter ?

A little on Trust, in a newly set-up company: Trust is more than just being honest or truthful. But also about sharing, talking, communicating, listening, befriending, being there for someone – be it for your team, or your partner. Be reliable. People like to know that they can count on someone. It is reassuring to be able to depend on someone to follow through with his/her responsibilities and commitments. Unpredictability and inconsistency causes others stress and unnecessary second-guessing. Be responsible. Take ownership for problems and breakdowns. Making excuses and blaming others creates fear, increases cover-ups and stops the flow of much needed information. Taking a positive proactive approach to problems frees others to be creative and surface issues early on.

The way forward in the 21st post global monetary crisis, is to collaborate with each other, reaching a consensus so to speak – not just with your partner, but also with the Team. Who does best a task should handle the task, who does better in another should handle the other yet both should be accomodating only because the degree of control no longer works in a post-monetary crisis, be it the recent global issue, or a lack of funding in a company. Trying and learning new things can overcome challenges. Without trying, nor wanting to learn new things, adapting for slippers instead of court shoes, account for blind arrogance, and arrogance is not welcomed when the world is kneeling, before the Throne.

If the monetary crisis just didn’t happen, would we still learn how to be compassionate to our fellow beings ? or would we just close an eye, and walk on by ?
