The Alchemist of the Soul

Dare To… Live!

Yeah, but what does that mean ? What are you telling your clients – you come up with a plethora of jargons, leaving your clients dumbfounded, and in no time, you’ll be speaking Artificial… intelligence. When we meet, I’d like for you to speak to me in plain French, or English… or a melange of those two plus Malay if you must insist on working my brain.

If you’re a lawyer, or a doctor, there simply is no point of exploiting either law or medical dictionary. If you happen to be in ICT, abbreviations can literally put off your clients, and friends {unless they too are like you, and speak in binary lingo}. So there I was meeting up with an old friend – I told myself, that it isn’t time for me to even contemplate the idea of asking how he is doing these days – when you’re working online, you literally will have questions answered just as you think.

So I decided on the unconventional instead.

“So how has it been .. ? When was the last time you actually touched a paperbook?” I asked, smiling and looking at the Assam Laksa, on the table thinking that I should just gorge the whole bowl, but I wanted to be myself – not some deranged mal-nourished twit.

He smiled.

He took out a Kindle, and showed it to me…. with three book titles in it. I thought he’d change, but not this fast – the idea of reading something on plastic besides the Visa card can be quite daunting I guess – Don’t get me wrong … I love change, but .. reading your favourite author on plastic is like crushing on a guy you’ve met once and never had the opportunity to squeeze his hands or pucker your lips in public {because you can’t squeeze his hands in public}.

“You’ve lost weight” he said .. “Have you been active lately ? ” he added. I’d best just zap these thoughts to his energy fabric instead and spare the idea of having to open my mouth and talk, getting all excited like most women I’ve recently met. It didn’t work – he was expecting me to talk to him, in tonalities I’ve been thinking adding in a podcast {or 2} soon, if I can figure out how to upload those onto the server with a decadently slow Internet connection – sometimes, when I think about it … this service Maxis has been dishing us or .. Streamyx for the masses.. really isn’t worth our time. Maxis has been misbehaving – for the past week it has intermittently disconnected itself despite having zapped Connection Keeper ensuring that it’s constantly streaming – what is the freaking point of having to have an unlimited broadband connection when it keeps disconnecting every five minutes or so. What used to take me 1/2 hour to do, now takes me 2 days to complete – and darlings … if I were to follow my heart, I’d leave this country in an instant !

Information’s pretty thin stuff unless mixed with experience.

Even uploading or installing a plugin onto Wordpress or Joomla these days seem a tad worrisome with Maxis – Imagine having to re-connect everytime you’re in the middle of uploading something to the server. Downloading is a pain too, but I shan’t complain anymore – Malaysia and its service industry is sludged in the mud and will fail, un fait accompli I’d dare add.. I dread to even say, its because of the rice or the belachan they’ve been consuming – the Japanese on the other hand do have those in their diets, but they do not complacently think like these proud chocolate skin people in South East Asia, whom for the love of Faust believe that they’re are indeed the chosen ones amongst the other chocolate skin people in South East Asia. Not that I did not comprehend why Dr. Mahathir is sicken to the marrows … in reference the Malays but these, have problems somewhere… maybe in their DNA or something… genetically speaking we need to splice and probe and see what is the innate problem.

La nuit a son code de mœurs.., Overnight I’ve earned a silver lining.

Have not blogged for some time … as you can see, I’ve been really busy, but that’s really not an excuse to overlook The Alchemist. Drop by IONIUM when you can find time, you might find something interesting therein… Meanwhile, here’s a list of some of my favourite sites, that you can visit, and gain a rich{er} experience …
