Is it Plug, and Play ?
I started to write a short story when I was in Medina AlMunawara, just last week. I couldn’t finish it … I didn’t want to .. – I told myself, it is not in my jurisdiction to guide them those lost {or seemingly ‘found’} on the path – for to do so would be blasphemous to the Word, itself.
My bin directory is missing!
So I shan’t please the egoes to want to learn more on how to return ‘home’ when they are not in want, of returning ‘home’. Such a double-edge sword really, this journey from non-being to being- to non-being again, its as if, the rigmarole is shedding the skin only to find that the innermost core is a quandary on its own, light upon lights intensed, condensed in a circumbulation in a galaxy yet to be re-discovered by many who has willingly forgotten the very essence of their very existence in the first place. If I could show you the worlds I would – like a splice of a fractal
, the finesse is in the details – every curve, every point, every stocatto-effect is similar – its amazing really – even at its finest, it is similar yet in its grandeur, its evolutionary levels are … as vast a difference between the heavens, and the earth.
Hi, good afternoon, this is Martha, I can’t print. Every time I try, it says ‘Can’t find printer’. I’ve even lifted the printer and placed it in front of the monitor, but the computer still says it can’t find it…
Now that that’s cleared … maybe we can start talking of more common things … {but if you’d like to learn, share or even intercourse on things more serious as in how to not roll-over the bridge you’re crossing towards the threshold of ‘life’ so to speak.. drop me a comment or two, or just drop me an email ~ it’s really not a difficult thing to do – its a choice between wanting and not-wanting}… like why it is imperative that businesses migrating online need to implement the Helpdesk system, and which is better over the other and why?
Some to look out for at the moment where Open source and trialware are concerned … not necessarily in that order of course …
Israel Lifshitz of Ilient has come out with a free helpdesk solution to make matters for you much less tedious – basically a full edition but minus the co-branding{white label} facilities and some other features … this include the facility to for end users screenshots to be attached to service requests automatically; automatic prioritization; the ability to lists customization including categories, status, priority, urgency… through full email integration {Mail to Service Request} to Client-Server / Agent Platform supporting Windows / Linux / Mac .. and if that’s not something you’d tinker with, it’d be wise to at least look into it before deploying your Help Desk requirements.

Whilst you’re checking out Ilient’s Sys-Aid, you might want to consider IBM’s IQM which I find totally becoming in the 21st century. The Instant Queue Manager has won “Best in Lotusphere Showcase Award” for the 15th Annual IBM Lotus Awards – and that accounts for something in my books !

What makes the IQM different and productivity enhanced is that access queues on the go are available from mobile devices such as PDAs or cell phones – we talk of Telcos, and the facilities to make mobility a standard gauge for the 21st century, and IQM has indeed implemented this as a feature entices me more than ever – it also easily routes and manage real-time requests from sites, without the need for any complex programming or Java expertise ! If you’ve been online for quite sometime, before PHP came into being – programming in PERL/CGI you would have at least heard of Kayako.
Amongst its features include the ability to manage tickets on and offline on a Microsoft Windows Mobile device; notifications directly to your desktop, and a desk solution that combines the functionality of eSupport and LiveResponse into one integrated package – the better part of the software is that Kayako has a CSR Program and offers these solutions free of charge to registered charities and open-source projects. Free, perpetual licenses with no strings attached. Whilst Kayako has a wonderful CSR Program, retail licensing begins at RM120 per month for unlimited users and can reach as high as RM1200 for hosted and supported options.
Help desk software is not something you write about – it’s seriously not into insights that can critically change how you perceive realities – there are some good CMS and CRM software but its not in the passion for writers technical or otherwise to ‘write’ about them – at best, they’re given the platform to be ‘introduced’ to the masses, by reviewers, by beta-testers … and by tech-writers .. that’s about it – the passion is not so much in writing about them, rather the introducation and why they differ over the other ..
I need you to reboot your floppy
One of which to show how help desk software becomes interesting to write about is versaSRS HelpDesk programmed in .net, that has been developed with a multi-document interface that simulates a Windows environment providing a rich desktop style user experience, similar to familiar Microsoft Office products and most of us have evolved from an MS Office background to effectively and productively work to reach either a solution, or a conclusion for our clients, or Team. Features too many to mention, versaSRS HD is something your IT Department need to seriously look into to effectively put your organization in gear towards the future..
But the vendor says this should be “Plug and play”
Zimbra is an excellent communications tool, so if you’re looking for a similar Helpdesk feature for the application, it is wise to check the database for zimlets that may be made available recently.
