Swimming Against The Current

At the back of my Mind, there’s really nothing that I want of this world. As a child, when asked what I wanted — I’d just look at the questioner perplexed as if the Dream Maker, or the Wish Grantor could grant my wishes true.

Growing up, whether I blog about Life, about ‘reality’, about ‘being’ – in the end, I’m blogging to Me first and foremost, and by chance if these words make sense to those who are connected to the quanta fiber of existence, who comprehend the nature of unity, as a collective consciousness, all the better.

Whether you read, or comprehend the nature behind these words or not, whether the world is torn asunder in a couple of years or not, whether the State of Gog, and Magog continues to downplay nations and allies in the hopes of totally controlling the world; whether you will return ‘safely’, is no longer of my concern. I have literally tried everything to make you see, that as much as I am willing to help make your world a better place, I cannot do so, if you refuse to collaborate.

The Wish Grantor would be wise to not ask me what I want — at best s.he is wise to ask for ease instead before crossing the threshold of ‘life’.

At a recent job interview, they asked me how much remuneration I would be comfy with. What an odd question, I’d ask myself – aren’t business owners able enough to know what an entity’s worth is? Is it really difficult to gauge and grant a percentage of the wealth earned, and share with any one employee?

Many people are led to believe that ‘death’ is just a transition and that one never really dies. Well, for the Saintly, Angels and the fineries of Light, they don’t. As long as you have yet to turn your fire into Light, you’re still subjected to ‘taste’ the pangs of death. We can assure you, that it can be as easy or as difficult — for it dwells back to how you approach what Life brings you, and how you re-act to it.

Isaiah 29:18On that day the deaf will hear words of a book, And out of their gloom and darkness the eyes of the blind will see {i.}

Many people promised me many things – especially those who think that false promises will pacify me. You honour your words or you don’t, your end will be an end for yourself. Whether you promise to serve your God, or your diety in heaven, earth or hell, you are the one who is going to do that. Not me – so promises honoured or otherwise are none of my concern.

But I can remind you, jolt you to retrace your words, your steps where you’re at, and put you back in place before you ultimately falter, and drown in the quicksand of no return. I am put in your ‘view’ for a specific reason, and for a specific time. And as quick as you may deduce the same of Me, I know my raison d’être for being here on your planet. Do you?

Why CSR Often Fails

If I do ask you for something, it often is, more often than not, for humanity — for your species really. Like in the most recent case when I asked for certain hardware from a notable company, to complete my book in support for The Future Project – misconstruing me thinking I’m asking for a ‘donation’ for the project shows the lack of concern for Society, and humanity. Implementing CSR without fully comprehending the nature of whatever project society is asking help in, is like plastering the words ‘CSR’ for the sake of telling the world, you really care.

Like I’ve said before, in a blog herein The Alchemist, if the world is not ready to help, and as much as I may bleed my heart to help, intentions will not materialize.

Companies must realize that when implementing CSR that people, or iniators who do ask, are not free loaders. At best a company can do is to do some research intelligence before trashing a not-so-polite letter rejecting a plight. Companies must also realize that when giving, entities need not make a courtesy call to imprint therein their printed collaterals that such a such was sponsored by a so, and so. CSR for the public does not entail receivers to be brand envagenlists either. Companies must realise that the idea of implementing CSR is not about future businesses, and sales.

It really is giving back to the people. As simple as that! You either give or you don’t, but don’t for Faust’s sake, tell the world how CSR has helped increased your portfolio. That is not the basic of the exercise in the first place —Transparency, as much as authenticity plays a major role in one’s success, and failure. So does integrity, and Karma, for companies adhering to that principle, and what is transparency without integrity?

According to research, consumers are increasingly punishing irresponsible companies and rewarding responsible ones, most markedly in the USA and Canada, but also in large developing economies; employees increasingly value CSR in their employers. Large and steadily growing majorities say “CSR increases motivation and loyalty;” and Investors also see value in CSR. Over half of respondents believe it is “less risky to invest in socially responsible companies than socially irresponsible companies.” {ii.}

Irresponsible CSR

The world is built as such to be a playground to help each other for when one realizes that as an important an infrastructure it is to the future of humanity, one will also realize that by implementing projects to improve the world, in turn does improve the Self, the community, and the Nation. And until the ego can comprehend, and live that, you do have a very long time to go – and this is the problem — As much as humans may believe they’ll live to a hundred and one, TIME is not on their side. Humans do not govern Time. If one is gifted with insights to comprehend the reality of unity, they will realize that unity encompass both worlds — the above & the below; the apparent, and the hidden; the first & the last; you get my drift!

Society’s expectations of companies are growing significantly, according to the latest round of GlobeScan’s annual CSR Monitor. The unpublished public opinion data shows average expectations rising across eight of the world’s largest economies, where attitudes to CSR have been tracked from 2001 to 2009.

“The better, and in my opinion the correct, modern model of regulation… is based on trust in the responsible company. {iii.}”

This ‘trust-based’ approach seems to be wildly out of touch with what the general public expects and wants from government in relation to corporate accountability. CSR is not about making headlines – at best, the Public Relations outfit should handle that.

A critical factor in defining a new system, however, will be how far investors change their perceptions of corporate responsibility. Will they recognize the failures of irresponsible companies? Will they value “externalities,” the actual social and environmental costs not included in the market prices of goods and services? {iv.}

The problem with assuming that companies can do well while also doing good is that markets don’t really work that way — While CSR efforts often “offer good PR,” which companies of course like, Companies often fail to uphold voluntary standards of behavior in developing countries, arguing instead that they operate within the law of the countries in which they are. While companies are vying to be seen as socially responsible to the outside world, they also become more effective at hiding socially irresponsible behavior, such as lobbying activities or Tax avoidance measures. {v.}

Hillel said, “Be of the disciples of Aaron — one that loves peace, that loves mankind, and brings them nigh to the Law.”

{i} Multitudes are ruined for want of observing that which they cannot but see; they perish, not through ignorance, but carelessness. The Lord is well pleased in the making known His Own Righteousness. For their sins they were spoiled of all their possessions. There is no resisting, or escaping the Lord’s anger. See the mischief sin makes; it provokes The Lord to fury. And those not humbled by lesser judgments, must expect greater!
