Thinking Outside The Box!

July 17th, 2008 | | Posted in techneus

It took hardly 2 minutes to complete the upgrade from 2.5 to 2.6.

WPAU is awesome - R Huereca should be commended for creating a brilliant plugin - Thank you Ronald - when I’m wealthier I’ll get you that dream car of yours’. AainaA.info is officially upgraded to 2.6 as of writing.

Meanwhile, AainaA Insight! is back on maintenance mode.

Joomla and Drupal should seriously consider creating a better upgrading system - Kudos to Wordpress for thinking outside the box!

Stegosaurus and Social Networks

July 8th, 2008 | | Posted in Malaysia, sauce, techneus, €uro

It does not matter how hard you labour; it is what you accomplish that counts.

Connecting The DotsSomeone once said to me, that one can’t be serious on Facebook or on any social networking platform and that investing into something virtual would only be a waste of money, and time.

Tell that to Microsoft vying to acquire Yahoo; or to Google acquiring the many Web 2.0 mini portlets and these stegosaurus will be jack-strapped and placed into zoological institutions.

As long as one has yet to taste the bitter sweetness of death, there is a reason to mingle, connect, and collaborate.

Nothing can bind one to another except the thread of sympathy, and nothing can separate one from another except the cutting of that thread.

I think the problem with people giving excuses about the need not to be on social networks, is that nothing is deemed serious or important enough in this world, if the heart is not settled - a settled heart hears the pleas of humanity, and react to it. One can be indifferent about the whole matter but only when one is ascertained of one’s ‘position’ on planet Earth. As it is the world is facing humanity’s threat to global warming, human trafficking {21st century slavery}, racism, wars, economic turmoil, and poverty, amongst others.

Global concerns critical or otherwise do not choose where to strike. Wars do not happen overnight - they are being planned even as these words are written. If that is not a concern, the Gods will not be working to make nations sanctuaries for millennia to come. Humans must first learn that everyone irrespective how far disassociated one is towards the other is connected in many ways. What worth is it of great books, if we fail to live faith as an entity - living and breathing it as part parcel of our very own conscience?

A certain personality, whom I shan’t divulge said nonchalantly one day…

“Facebook is for kids and people who are not serious about anything,” he said trying to discourage me from creating a community after I advised him about the importance of shaping society, and propagating peace.

“Don’t waste your time - you have other better things to do!” he snorted. I raised my eyebrows {yeah right, like he’s going to give me a job! Or the equity investment I’m seeking - the thing about people who loves discouraging other people and yet want to make it big is they’re as clueless as Bozo the Clown when it comes to making the audience love them!}

“It has nothing to do with the platforms,” I said. “.. But we do need a platform to work on some if not all the issues…” I added. He was adamant, this egoistical and short-termed Malay business man added in irritation… “You cannot make money with social network - I know you cannot!!” he blasted as if his final words have been justified on paper and has become scientific fact. Try to tell a group that they can break even during the first year is like digging for a mermaid’s bone in the depths of the Pacific. There are many businesses wanting a piece of the pie, and the cherries on top, but few know the bliss of investing in startups.
